昆州英语考试(QCE EAL)介绍（QCE English和QCE EAL的区别）

虽然2021年的QCE EAL考试已经告一段落，但是对于准12年级同学来说，接下来是要奋斗的一年啦！今天我们就来聊一聊昆州英语考试，即QCE EAL，看看QCE EAL的Assessment有哪些内容吧~

一、QCE课程简介

QCE评测体系

昆州学生在11、12年级时，共有6次评估，其中12年级的4次测评计入ATAR。这4次计入ATAR的成绩由3次学生的校内测评Internal Summative Assessment和1次校外考试External Summative Exam两部分组成。

二、QCE英语课程简介

QCE的英语课程分为三类：English英语，Literature英语文学，EAL(English as an Additional Language)英语作为外语。对于留学生/国际学校学生来说，我们一般是选择EAL作为QCE的英语课程并参加相应的测评。

如果要申请QCE EAL，学生需要满足以下的要求：

母语为非英语

进入10年级前，在英语国家学习不超过5年

在英语国家学习超过5年，但英语能力非常有限

学生是否满足EAL，主要由学校评定并递交申请

三、QCE EAL课程介绍

EAL的测评和其他QCE学科一样，由12年级的4次Assessment组成，Unit 3和Unit 4各2次测评，前3次为校内测评，最后一次为校外测评，每次测评占总成绩的25%。

今天我们就来讨论一下这4次测评都考察哪些内容吧！

QCE EAL校内测评1 （Summative Internal Assessment 1）

Examination Analytical Written Response考试：分析型写作

时长：2小时15分钟（包含15分钟Planning时间）

字数：800-1000字

题目：学生会在考试前一周知道作文题

QCE EAL例题：

You have been studying the play Black Diggers by Tom Wright and the film Hidden Figures, directed by Theodore Melfi. Write an analytical essay about these texts under examination conditions, answering the seen task below.

Analyse the extent to which the play Black Diggers and the film Hidden Figures represent the idea that shared experiences build a sense of belonging.

例题分析：

上面这道题考察学生对两个文本的了解和分析，结构上涉及比较文写作Comparative Essay，也就是说许多事需要针对问题给出的Topic，即shared experiences build a sense of belonging, 在两个文本中找到它们的相似点和不同点并展开分析。

虽然可比较的内容有很多，如故事情节，人物背景等，但为了展示我们分析的深度，建议从作者的表现手法，人物特征等方面进行分析，并比较与之相关的具体情节，避免泛泛而谈。

QCE EAL 校内测评2（Summative Internal Assessment 2）

Extended Response Persuasive Written Response 写作：说服文写作

时长：不限

字数：800-1200字

题目：学生会有4周时间准备及完成写作

可以发现，虽然评分内容没有变化，但是分值却变了，第三项Textual Features的分值增多，因为Persuasive Writing需要学生使用Persuasive Language Techniques, 即说服技巧，来增加文本的说服力。因此，从文本内容上更强调学生对这一体裁的熟悉度。

QCE EAL例题：

Choose a contemporary social issue that has appeared in the media in the past two years, and decide on a particular perspective on that issue.

Create the script for a speech that aims to persuade your audience of fellow students to accept your ideas about this issue.

例题分析：

这道题要求学生选择一个现代社会问题阐述增加的观点，并写一篇演讲稿来说服观众。这就要求学生不仅能熟练运用不同的说服技巧，还能了解演讲稿的写作方式。

不同于Essay的开门见山，演讲稿通常需要一个Hook，以某种有趣的方式来吸引观众，可以是一个问题，也可以是分享一则小故事，从而让观众迅速进入某个情境。结尾收束时也需要再次强调观点，从而增强演讲的说服力。

QCE EAL校内测评3（Summative Internal Assessment 3）

Extended Response Imaginative Spoken/Multimodal Response演讲：想象类演讲或多媒体展示

时长：不限

字数：相当于5-8分钟演讲或6-9分钟的多媒体展示（演讲和多媒体相结合）

题目：学生会有4周时间准备及完成演讲

QCE EAL例题：

Create a first-person narrative based on a character from Stranger Things. You will deliver the narrative at the Brisbane Festival at an event called One event, many stories, for an audience who has already engaged with the television series. The narrative you create will develop new insights into your chosen character from Stranger Things, and reveal new insights into their hopes, dreams and desires, and how these are shaped by their fears.

Your narrative must be linked to a pivotal moment or idea in the original text, fill a gap in the storyline and develop perspective/s in the original text.

You could choose to fill a narrative gap from the perspective of any character in the series, including:

例题分析：

这是一篇Creative Writing创造类写作，同时又是Narrative叙述类。学生需要对Stranger Things这个电视节目里的角色熟悉，并根据某一角色进行创作。因此，学生仍然需要在对选择的角色进行深入分析后，才能开始有依据地合理地创作。

QCE EAL校外测评（Summative External Assessment）

Examination Analytical Written Response考试：分析类写作

时长：2小时15分钟（包含15分钟Planning时间）

字数：800-1000字

题目：考试时提供Question Book，考生选择一道题进行写作

Question Book会提供16道题，共8篇文本，每篇2题。学生勾选一部作品中的一道题进行分析类写作。

四、QCE English和QCE EAL的区别

QCE的English和EAL的Assessment非常类似，都是3个校内Assessment + 最后1个校外Assessment：

Extended Response written response for a public audience (25%)

Extended Response imaginative written response (25%)

Extended Response persuasive spoken response (25%)

Examination analytical written response (25%)

细心的同学可以发现，和EAL的直接要求写一篇Analysis不同，English的第一个Assessment指定了作文的受众，即Public Audience，也就是说，作文题对体裁有一定要求，比如Journal Article期刊文章，且字数要求更多，要求1000-1500字左右。

而English 的第二个和第三个Assessment的体裁和形式和EAL相同。

不同点在于，English两个校内Written Response的要求比EAL更高，都是1000-1500字左右，而EAL只需800-1000字。

最后一个Assessment，即Exam考试的形式和体裁都相同，字数也相同，均为800-1000字。

由此可见，QCE的English和EAL的差别不算太大，但是对字数和英语的掌握要求相对更高。
